These policies apply to Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, or anyone else who may volunteer to work with students at HTCS. We appreciate your help in all of the various capacities you serve our school community. The safety of our students is our highest priority, and to maintain this safe environment, we follow ALL of the Child Protection Policy requirements of the Diocese of Belleville.
Anyone who volunteers or participates in any of the following activities and/or roles must comply with safety policies:
As an HTCS volunteer, you are required to meet ALL of the Child Protection Policy requirements of the Diocese of Belleville. The following items must be on file BEFORE you volunteer for any activity involving children.
1. Volunteer Application - ONE time completion - PDF form below
2. CANTS Form - Completed every other year - PDF form below
3. Initial Child Protection Class - ONE time completion
For a list of upcoming classes, you may visit www.diobelle.org. Click the Child Protection option located on the bottom right of the Home page.
4. Online Child Protection Refresher course - Annual completion - required one year after Initial Child Protection Class, and every year after.

5. State Background Check (for those who spend significant time with students) - Completed every 5 years
This form will be ordered by the office as needed. They are numbered with a bar code for State use. Not everyone will need to go through the background check. Examples of volunteers required to undergo a background check: Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and those who spend a lot of time with children, such as Moderators of extracurriculars such as Lego Robotics, Art Program, Drama, Scouts, etc.
